Toronto-based brand Ransom recently released another collaborative project with Adidas Originals called “The Dover” shoe for its 2012 spring/summer collection. This collection also includes “The Pier” made with light weight canvas (perfect for the beach) and “The Army Trainer Mid” featuring a vulcanized outsole and toe cap, along with a mono-chromatic upper and mix material construction of premium suede and soft calf leather.

Once in awhile, we’ll post something about LOVE, even if it’s not directly related to Toronto. In this case, artist Curtis Kulig (of the famous “Love Me” tags) and Shepard Fairey (of the OBEY campaign) have come together to create a limited-edition line of clothing for both men and women. The “Love Me” Project is a part of the 2012 Spring/Summer OBEY catalog, and is now available online.

Toronto’s latest TA-ZE store, at 120 Adelaide Street West, was designed by Toronto-based Burdifilek, led by managing partner Paul Filek, and creative partner Diego Burdi. They managed to take a small 800 square foot space and turn it into an open, organized place of business. TA-ZE is a chain of retail stores focusing on premium olive oils and related products.

UforChange works with new Canadian and low-income youth living in and around St. James Town to inspire them and give them the tools to succeed by providing support and resources to pursue higher education, volunteering, job shadowing and/or employment opportunities. They help to connect youth with professionals, artists, and community leaders who teach them how to use the arts as a vehicle for economic, cultural and social change.

UforChange is a federally funded pilot project until March 31, 2012.

Canadian Sportswear brand NorthStar continues to carve out their niche with a variety of new releases. Their latest lookbook includes a new track suit, tanks and tees, plus an introduction of Batawa (which happens to be a small town in eastern Ontario founded by the Bata family, and is the birthplace for NorthStar).

Roots Canada has launched their Valentines Day Collection “Made With Love” In Canada, and we got a sneak peek last night at their Bloor St. location. The collection includes a series of women’s hand bags, tote’s and coin pouches made in red and black Italian leather with a special 3-heart tassel.

Toronto designer Anu Raina first showcased her Spring/Summer 2012 Collection “Murano” at last year’s LG Fashion Week. She’s preparing to release her Fall/Winter 2012 Collection “Welcome to Toronto”, but before that drops, we’d like to share Murano with you.

The inspiration behind this collection comes from the hand blown glass chandeliers made in Murano, Italy. The movement of colour and play on light has been reinterpreted in this collection with one-of-a-kind pieces made by Anu. “In making this collection I played with colour and dyes fearlessly, showcasing this energy.”

Murano is a movement of colour, light and patterns.

The Art of Re-use team is back, but this time they’ve decided to open a shop for Women.
