This past Friday the 13th, our good friend Bryan Espiritu of The Legends League/Ideall held his first solo art exhibit inside 99 Sudbury. The show’s title “Because The Kid’s Don’t Play” is a concept based on the loss of innocence growing up, and our neglect for the children around us. Through the use of classic Disney icons we all know and love, Bryan created an awkward, intriguing, and somewhat disturbing look that plays off his original poem (read it here).

In all, there were 56 digital and mixed media canvases, with a large number of pieces selling out within the first hour of the show. The show also had a live performance from Toronto’s very own Airplane Boys along side DJ’s Wristpect, Lissa Monet, and Mensa.

History was made that night, not only for Bryan, but for the entire arts community… Congratulations Bryan!
